I'm really sad. I totally regret getting Jakes hair cut this week. My friend Marybeth cut it and she did a great job but.....I MISS HIS CURL!!!! yeah, his hair was kinda long and curly in the back but sometimes looked like a mullet. So, we decided to cut it. I miss the mullet!!!! So we decided we need to let it thicken up before it looks ''beachy long'' like we want it. Thanks marybeth! oh yea....he did EXCELLENT for her! he even sat in the chair by himself for most of it...just licking his root beer lollipop that had huge amounts of hair stuck to it and wondering what was going on. Here are some pics.......i have been MIA lately....i'll post more later.

This Week

well, we have been keeping busy this week! Jake had his 1 year checkup and everything checked out good! his stats are 20 lbs. 1oz. height 30.5 inch. so he is on the same curve as always...skinny and tall. He can say (and wave) bye-bye, daddy, thank-you(tatu), .....we are STILL waiting on mommy though!!!!!James taught him to raise both hands in the air when we say''PRAISE GOD!!!!'' REALLY cute! so when you all see him, say praise god and see him PRAISIN THE LORD!!!!!
We went to frank liske park twice this week to play....its only 5 minutes from my house and it is a WONDERFUL park to go to! big lake with ducks and a lot of different swings and stuff. Teething woes are thankfully over!!!! He was cranky for about 2-3 days and then his pain let up. Thanks for the suggestions ladies! Just as i was about to try them...he started feeling better. Now we have two more wonderful teeth to brush! here are some recent pics...enjoy!

This picture could have been WAY worse i know.....but I turn my head for a split second ,......okay okay,not true, I was really on the phone.......and my toilet paper is everywhere! I found him before he could unravel the whole roll. Now that would have been a cooler pic!

Teething help

HELLLLLPPPP!!!!! I need some good advice on teething remedies with my little man! He is cutting hie eye teeth at the same time and has been crying/whining constantly over the last 2 days! I feel SO bad for him! I have tried orajel, motrin, tylenol, teething washcloths and sticking them in the freezer, cold stuff, etc. nothing really has helped. He will get distracted for a few minutes but then feels his pain again. I have even taken him in to the pedia. thinking he had an ear infection,nope she said those teeth are the WORST to cut. any advice that i have not tried would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Wagon Rides

Every morning this is what we do. Eat breakfast and then go for a wagon ride!!!! Jake got this wagon from maw-maw and paw-paw and papa powers. He LOVES it!!! I do too! we walk up and down the street several times and then play bubbles or pick up rocks or simply, he will crawl on the driveway looking for anything, especially pine needles and ants to shove in his mouth. We are really trying to take advantage of the nice cool mornings. I have started to have a bit more of a schedule for our day lately. It prevents me from sticking him in front of the t.v. all day too. He is doing ''room time'' two times a day as well, for 30 min. a piece. I think he is starting to enjoy it too. This will hopefully be a good transition when he drops down to one nap a day, to be used to room time so during the morning I can get things done.
I actually taught him how to get into some of the kid-friendly kitchen cabinets......i know some of you are like ''why?!!!''. You see, Jake LOVES his momma SO MUCH that he would love for me to hold him alllll day! And this provides a way for him to play close to me in the kitchen. It really has been great.
Some more bittersweet news.....Jake is off bottles AND formula!!!! I breastfed till 10 months when I was ready to start ovulating again so we could start trying for baby #2. I used a little formula till a couple weeks ago and now he is just on cow's mile and doing great! But I do kinda miss being able to hold him and he actually be STILL!!!! :)

Family Night

Last Wednesday night we decided to have a family night since there was no date night last week. We went to the university lake and enjoyed ice cream from ninety's and walked around the lake a while. Jake enjoyed ''sharing'' ice cream with us. It was good just to be together! We are trying to think of more inexpensive things we can do together as a family these days. any suggestions are welcome!
