rollin..rollin..rollin....

Yesterday was a very exciting day in the Hasty household! Jake has been occasionally rolling over in his bed but not very often and not in view of us. But he now will be on his belly and just roll over so easily like he's been doing it forever! I'll lay him down and he'll turn over and start laughing and smiling at me, but he needs my help to get back over.......so cute......and he tried to take a bit of a scoot/crawl in his bed yesterday as well....he's definitely wanting to be on the go more.So two big gifts he gave his mommy yesterday! I was so amazed at how thrilled I was! He's been a little slow in that department but seems to be just taking his time....I have to try not to compare with other kids his age. I know life will be a little more challenging once he is mobile ,but there are so many fun, exciting things that go along with him learning to crawl! I guess in every season of your childrens lives you can either be focused on the challenges that are to come, or you can focus on the positive things that come with each new stage of your little ones....remembering they are still your little gifts from God! So, in saying that, you will all have to enquire how my heart is soon in the midst of ''no touch'' all day long! :)

busy busy

We have been so busy lately here in the hasty house. Between a friends wedding shower and meetings and stuff it has been a big week. Jake has done very well with sleeping in the pack'n'play anywhere I put him. So thankful for that!

James and I also had our first ever date night together the other night! I usually go alone to run errands or meet for coffee with other ladies but he surprised me and said he didn't have to study(which that is what he usually does on date night while he is in school) We had such a good time being together with no distractions. We ate and and sat at the university lake for a long time and just talked and talked. It felt great out that night too. Our little rule is that we agreed not to talk too much about Jake or work. It was nice to have other things to talk about for a few hours! I can't wait to be able to date my husband every week! We are so blessed to have a wonderful date night co-op with our friends!

Easter Basket

Yesterday my mother-in-law and I went to the dollar store in search for Jake's first little Easter bucket. We found lots of goodies but had to restrain myself since Jake is only 6 months old. I put in a book and some beach toys for this summer and bubbles. It was a lot of fun! It will look different in the future I am sure when we can put in items that pertain more towards why we celebrate this wonderful holiday, to remember Christ's death and Resurrection on the cross! Here is a picture.

6 month checkup

Jake had his 6 month visit to the pediatrition today. We are actually a couple of weeks overdue. He did great until his shots, but a few licks of a lollipop and a quick comfort nursing session made it all better! Big news is that the doc said his heart murmur is still slight and innocent! Praise God for that! He is still tall and thin. He has followed the same trend since day 1 so no alarm there. Here are his stats:
weight-16p.13oz.(25-40%)
height-27 1/2 inch.(75%)
head-17 inch. (>25%)

William S. H. Piper

I just wanted to encourage readers of my blog to check out the march 7 entry about John Piper's fathers death on the girl talk link on the right. John journaled the entry soon after his fathers death. It brought joyous tears to my eyes to read how this man had such a profound impact on his children's lives and lived to spread the Gospel all of his days! Just to think that he is with our Savior as we speak is so incredibly comforting and just plain WONDERFUL!!!! I do hope you check it out:)

Sitting like a big boy!

As you can see, Godiva is not lazy at all :)

yeah I know it's been a while since last entry but it's been kinda busy round here lately. BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!(no,not preggo) Jake can sit up on his own for a loooooooong time!!!!He's finally gotten the hang of staying up and not falling over. What a big boy he is becoming! I love this stage so much! I love to see him develop into having his own little personality. I included pics for all to see.
